MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for an experienced and Board Certified PM & R physician to join our Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit located in Dubuque, Iowa.Â
Job Description:
MercyOne Dubuque is the leading hospital in the tri-states, offering the only comprehensive cardiology center and level II regional neonatal intensive care unit in the area as well as the newly constructed MercyOne Dubuque Cancer Center. Other services include a trauma center, a CARF-accredited inpatient rehabilitation unit, home health care, orthopedics, retail pharmacies, palliative care, and a wide range of outpatient and community services. MercyOne operates two hospital-based skilled nursing units and a 40-bed nursing home.
In recognition of the strength of its nursing service and the overall quality of patient care, MercyOne Dubuque has been designated a Magnet® hospital four consecutive times - the nation's most prestigious award for nursing excellence.
MercyOne is a faith-based, not-for-profit health care team, serving a four county referral network within two states Iowa and Illinois. MercyOne is a certified level IV community trauma care facility providing initial stabilization for all trauma patients while preparing the patient for transfer if needed.

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for an experienced and Board Certified PM & R physician to join our Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit located in Dubuque, Iowa.Â
Job Description:
- Candidates must be experienced and Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)Â
- Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit located in Dubuque, Iowa.Â
- Experience managing medical cases and a great team player who is comfortable working with an interdisciplinary care team including nurses, physicians, and therapists.Â
- MercyOne Dubuque’s Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit has been providing the community comprehensive rehabilitation for over 35 years and currently is a 9 bed department including an independent living apartment. The unit has the potential for immediate growth up to 17 beds.Â
- Patients on the rehabilitation unit range in age from 18 years to geriatrics.Â
- Common diagnoses seen on the unit include stroke, head injury, spinal cord injury, Guillain Barre syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, major multiple traumas, cardiac & orthopedic conditions, and other conditions causing impairments in functional areas.
- The schedule for this is full-time, Monday-Friday, which includes 36 patient contact hours per week.

Prior to coming to Wapiti, Lisa spent over 21 years in Retail Pharmacy in multiple roles including Manager, CPhT and Compliance Officer. Some of her accolades include Diabetic Lifestyle Coach, Orthotic Shoe Fitter and ACHC Accreditation Specialist. Lisa was also the recipient of Pharmacy Technician of the Year Award by the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy.
Lisa is a mother of two adult children, Eric and Brooke, whom she is incredibly proud of. In her spare time, she enjoys DIY projects, drawing and painting, traveling both domestically and internationally, cooking, gardening and experiencing new adventures so she can continue to check things off her bucket list.
