Job Description

OUHealth Oklahoma City, OK is seeking Pediatrics-Geneticist Physician (Locum) at the Children's Hospital.

Job Summary

Diagnosing and managing genetic disorders in children, including evaluating family history, performing genetic testing, providing counseling on potential risks and implications of genetic conditions, and coordinating treatment plans to manage symptoms associated with those disorders,
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including Clinical Pediatric Geneticists, Molecular Geneticists, clinical Biochemical Geneticists, Genetic Counselors, Dieticians, and more.
  • Work in a major academic center equipped with in-house metabolic and molecular/cytogenetic labs, providing the tools and resources you need.

Hospital Details
  • Hospital Bed Size: 500 adult beds, 126 ICU beds
  • Trauma Level: Level 1, Level IV NICU
  • Patient Volume for Specified Dept: 4 patients per clinic
  • EMR: Epic

Schedule/Availability Requirements
 
  • 1 week per month - minimum monthly availability
  • Target start date April 21,2025
  • 24 hour call carrying pager
  • Half day clinic with 4 patients, inpatient coverage and 1 weekend call
  • Assignment: 5/26/25 - 5/31/26 (estimated)
Reason for coverage: 2 current locums retiring and excessive backlog of patients

Requirements
 
  • American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) Certification
  • 2 year Fellowship
  • Oklahoma License
  • BLS, PALS
  • Metabolic disorder experience preferred, min 2-5 years' experience
