Job Description
MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is looking for a locum PA Orthopedic Surgeron fill their need!
Schedule:
- Start: July might still be possible
- Mon-Fri (8a-5p)
- Weeknight call, no weekends
- Inpatient responsibilities: Yes - rounding on post-op patients, inpatient/ED consults, OR
- Telehealth: NO.
- Job Responsibilities: Clinical, Surgical and Trauma/Orthopedic Call
- Number of Physicians: 4 Physicians as of July 2025 with Locum call coverage
- Number of Advanced Practice Providers:
- Nursing Support: 1 nurse/provider, 3 cast techs/7 providers
- Ancillary Staff per Provider: 3 Reception/7 providers, 2 Surgery Schedulers/7 providers
- Number of Exam Rooms per Provider: 2 exam rooms and 3 cast rooms
- Medical Imaging: YES.
- Lab: YES.
- Pharmacy: YES.
- Average Daily Hospital Practice Census: Mainly consults, current avg hospital daily census 160 pts/day
- Appointment Length: 10-30 mins depending on new consult, recheck, post-op, or procedure
- Demographics: Hub Hospital, Serve 16 surrounding counties, Population 200,000+
- EMR: GE Centricity for clinic. EPIC for hospital.
- Teaching Opportunity: IM and FM residency. PA student rotation.
- Facility will accept new grads.
- Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
- Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacement.
- Hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgical procedures.
- Trauma injuries, fracture care, sports medicine, and other disorders.
- Board Certified - (can accept Board Eligible)
- Clean Malpractice
- Active IA License or Active Compact/IMLC LOQ
