Job Description

MercyOne Clinton is looking for a Locum Medical Oncologist to cover at least 2 weeks/month (last 2 weeks of each month) beginning in November. Willing to consider Medical Oncologist or Hem/Onc provider.

• November - ongoing
• at least 2 weeks/month during the end of the month, Mon-Fri, 8a-5p (this is flexible)
• No weekends, no call
• 100% Outpatient coverage, addressing critical labs (hospitals manage inpatients)
• Patient population; adult and geriatric
• 70% oncology, 30% hematology, 0% IM
• 20 patients per day
• Trauma level 3
• Reason for coverage: provider is leaving
• EMR: Cerner (Epic FY24)
• Required procedures: management of VAD/CV catheters, order tests, order images, prescribe meds
• Administration of chemotherapy: nurse oncologist; Admission of patients: Hospitalists 
• Client is preferring local candidates - they will be putting preference on this when reviewing submissions
• Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days

Submission Requirements

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible (within 0-5 years of residency) - Required
• Active IA license or IMLC - Required
• Must be available during the last 2 weeks of each month
• Local candidates within driving distance - Highly Preferred
• COVID Vaccine - Required, note at time of name clear
