Job Description
Mercy Medical Center is seeking locum OB/GYN to help with ongoing coverage through 2025.
Â
- Reason for Coverage: Gaps while we recruit.
- Dates of Coverage: ASAP possible until early 2025 TBD
- Call Schedule: to be worked out with the employed team/scheduler
- Practice Setting: OBGYN-Family Life Center-Labor and Delivery /Mercy Hospital ED and OR Coverage No outpatient or elective surgeries
- Total Number of Beds: 16 beds- 6 labor/10 postpartum
- Number of Physicians in Practice:Â 4
- Other OB/GYNs will provide coverage during Locums coverage dates
- How Many APPs Provide Coverage:Â 10
- Onsite Lab
- Onsite Ultrasound
- Office Equipment:Â Full complement of supplies
- Support Staff: Full complement-RN, CNM's, 24 hour Peds, Anesthesia and surgical PA's available on site
- Percentage of Practice is Low Risk Pregnancy:Â 100%
- Percentage of Practice is High Risk Pregnancy: 0%
- Percentage of Practice is GYN: 15% --GYN emergency coverage only
- Percentage of Patients are C-Section:Â 25%
- Average Number of Nursery Admissions Per Day: 2 per day
- Nursery Level (I, II, III):Â Level One Nursery
- Documentation System/EMR:Â Meditech
- Trauma Level/Designation:Â None----community based hospital
- Facility will reimburse Mileage
Required Obstetrics Procedures:Â
- Low Risk Pregnancy (i.e. History of Twins, Toxemia, Pyelonephritis, etc.)
- FHR Interpretation – NST/CST/FSE,OB ultrasounds
- Performance of Interpretation,OB ultrasoundsÂ
- Performance of Level I/Screening (Viability)
Labor and Delivery Required Procedures:Â Â
- Routine Delivery –Vaginal, Low Forceps, Decision-Making for C-Section,Complicated Delivery –C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc.,VBAC’s,Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations
Gynecology Required Procedures:Â Â
- D&C,Surgical Gynecology – Open,Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only-Tubal Ligation
- LOA’s, Chromal Tubation,Operative/Major (Includes Diagnostic) – Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovary Removal, Cystectomy, Extensive LOA’s

Lisa joined Wapiti Medical Staffing as a Recruiter in February 2022. Prior to coming to Wapiti, Lisa spent over 21 years in Retail Pharmacy in multiple roles including Manager, CPhT and Compliance Officer. Some of her accolades include Diabetic Lifestyle Coach, Orthotic Shoe Fitter and ACHC Accreditation Specialist. Lisa was also the recipient of Pharmacy Technician of the Year Award by the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy.
Lisa is a mother of two adult children, Eric and Brooke, whom she is incredibly proud of. In her spare time, she enjoys DIY projects, drawing and painting, traveling both domestically and internationally, cooking, gardening and experiencing new adventures so she can continue to check things off her bucket list.
