MercyOne North Iowa is looking for a Neurologist to cover ASAP-ongoing


Shift(s) Description:

• 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (Sun-Sat)
• 10-hour days (potentially 8-hour days, but TBD)

Details:

• 2-4 new patient consults per day
• 6-8 patients total daily on average (new consults and follow-ups included)
• Take all neurology inpatient/ED/network consult requests
• small outpatient clinic about 6 patients per day
• teaching expectation (will likely have IM/FM resident accompanying them)
• possibly unrestricted night call during that time (does not need to stay in house, but must be within 30 min response time)
• Reason for opening: shortage of neurology physicians (1 currently)
• 50% over age 65; 32% age 45-64; 17% age 19-44 (Pediatrics is possible but very infrequent, most common consult diagnosis is seizures)
• 2 APP's on staff
• 1 nursing support on staff
• Lab onsite
• X-ray on site
• EMR: Cerner
• Level III Trauma
• Required neurology procedure: Brain Death exam
• 8-10 weeks credentialing timeframe

• Total package: $405,000; base salary: $325,000; commencement bonus: $50,000; loan repayment: $30,000/year.
