Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a full-time Neonatologist to join our 5-physician practice at Stormont Vail Healthcare in Topeka, Kansas.  Enjoy this opportunity in the Midwest capital city of KS offering an affordable cost of living.

Job Description:
  • Full-time BC/BE Neonatologist position available
  • Combination of 8 and 24-hour shifts on 7-week rotating schedule.  1.0 FTE does approximately 170 hours per month of in-house coverage.
  • Neonatologists provide in-house call and backup call from home.
  • Join a 5-physician practice at Stormont Vail Healthcare in Topeka, Kansas
  • Provide a full range of services in a Level-III, 36-bed NICU
  • Services include high-frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, total body cooling, and aEEG
  • Average daily census of 26
  • Average length of stay of 19 days
  • Approximately 500 admissions annually
  • Pediatric subspecialty support available in Cardiology, Neurology, General Surgery, and Endocrinology
  • NICU has maintained The Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification in the Care of Premature Babies since 2012
  • Open to new Fellow graduate candidates if already BC in Pediatrics
  • Not accepting Locums candidates
  • Open to J1 & H1B visa candidates

Submission Requirements
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics 
  • TRULY Board Eligible (within 5 years of fellowship working toward BC) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • KS license (or willing to obtain)
  • Fellowship-trained in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (to be completed prior to start) 
  • Clean malpractice and license history 
  • Does the provider require visa support - J1 or H1B? 
About Stormont Vail Medical Center:
Pediatrix Medical Group, in partnership with Stormont Vail Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas, provides specialized neonatal care within a Level-III NICU. The unit features 36 beds and offers advanced services, including high-frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide therapy, total body cooling, and amplitude-integrated EEG (aEEG) monitoring. With an average daily census of 26 and approximately 500 admissions annually, the NICU delivers comprehensive care to neonates with varying levels of complexity. Supported by an extensive range of pediatric subspecialists in cardiology, neurology, general surgery, and endocrinology, the facility ensures access to multidisciplinary expertise. The NICU’s commitment to quality is reflected in its Joint Commission Disease-Specific Certification in the Care of Premature Babies, maintained since 2012.
