About the Facility MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center is a 366-bed, full-service, multi-specialty hospital providing acute, sub-acute and outpatient health care.
A full complement of facilities and services are available to support the community’s health care needs, including intensive care, operating and recovery rooms for both inpatient and ambulatory surgery, diagnostic radiology services such as X-ray, magnetic resonance imaging, CT scanning, mammography, laboratory, respiratory therapy, electrophysiology and pharmacy.

Job Description
MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center is looking for a Locums Hematologist-oncologist to fill their need!
Schedule:
- Patient Contact Hours: Variable
- Shifts per month: 16
- Clinic Hours: 0800-1630
- Clinic Days: Mon-Thurs
- Shift Length: 8 hours
- On Call:Â One week and one weekend per month.
- Inpatient Responsibilities - Yes, at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center and MercyOne Cedar Falls Medical Center. Very infrequent that you would need to go to the hospital for a consult. Hospitalists admit all patients.Â
- Medical Staff Required:Â Yes
- Job Responsibilities:Â Consults, follow up care, oversee administration of antineoplastics in the clinic.Â
- Number of Physicians:Â 1
- Number of Advanced Practice Providers:Â 2 (supervision of APPs not expected)
- Nursing Support/Physician Nurse Ratio:Â 2/1
- Ancillary Staff per Provider:Â Reception, lab, social worker, referrals
- Services offered in the practice:Â Antineoplastics, phlebotomies, IV IgG, iron therapy, bone marrow biopsies.
- Number of Exam Rooms per provider:Â 4
- Medical Imaging:Â Yes
- Lab:Â Yes
- Pharmacy:Â Yes
- Clinic Provider Daily Volume:Â 16-20
- Average Daily Hospital Practice Census:Â 0-2
- Appointment Length:Â This can be adjusted to the provider.
- Patient Demographics:Â 18 years and older

- Board CertifiedÂ
- Active IA License or Active IMLCÂ
- Fellowship Trained (Hematology Oncology)Â
- Must be experienced - Strongly Preferred (will accept new graduates)
- Must be available Full time - Strongly Preferred (will accept candidates who can offer 1-2 weeks per month)
