OVP Health is actively seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine or EM-experienced Family Medicine Physician to help grow our Holzer Health Programs in Gallipolis, Ohio. 

OVP is a family-owned physician group practice company focused on the delivery of hospitalist and emergency department physicians. OVP's physicians and affiliated providers practice in hospitals and other inpatient facilities. The current opportunity is provided by OVP as contracted by Holzer Health System

Job Description:
  • Physician-led organization
  • Board Certified Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine-trained with EM experience are welcome to apply
  • 21k/yr ED volume
  • 20 bed ED
  • 24 hours/day of physician coverage (12-hour shifts)
  • 14 hours/day of APP coverage
  • Paragon EMR 
  • Full-Time Employee (FTE) or Independent Contractor (IC)

About the Community:

The City of Gallipolis is located on the Ohio River in Gallia County. Gallipolis lies 40 miles upriver from Huntington, West Virginia, 58 miles northwest of Charleston, West Virginia, 50 miles west of Marietta, 109 miles southeast of Columbus, and 156 miles east of Cincinnati.

Population for Gallipolis for the 2010 census was 3,641 persons.  In 2005-2009 there were 1,800 households in Gallipolis. The average household size was 2.1 people.

Industries: In 2005-2009, for the employed population 16 years and older, the leading industries in Gallipolis were Manufacturing, 21 percent, and Educational services, health care, and social assistance, 19 percent.

Occupations and Type of Employer: Among the most common occupations were: Management, professional, and related occupations, 26 percent; Production, transportation, and material moving occupations, 25 percent; Sales and office occupations, 21 percent; Service occupations, 18 percent; and Construction, extraction, maintenance, and repair occupations, 10 Percent. Eighty percent of people employed were Federal, State, and local government workers; and 2 percent were self-employed in own not incorporated business workers.
