We offer ambulatory care through our MercyOne Family Medicine Clinics (a primary care and specialty physician network), home health agency, hospice, regional referral laboratory, regional rehabilitation and diagnostic technology services, pharmacies, an emergency services network and a variety of other health care services.

Our hospital is a private, not-for-profit health care center, licensed for 346 beds, which serves more than 400,000 inpatients and outpatients each year. In addition, MercyOne North Iowa is a teaching institution. We conduct a Family Medicine Residency, Internal Medicine Residency, Cardiology Fellowship, Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship, PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and a School of Radiologic Technology. MercyOne North Iowa is a clinical training site for approximately 500 students from 127 different colleges enrolled in programs for medical laboratory, nursing, paramedic, rehabilitation, medical assistants, pastoral services, physicians and many other medical fields.

Job Description
MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is looking for an ABEM/AOBEM Physician to fill their Locum need!
Schedule:
- Open FTE = Open shift coverage
- Shift length:Â 9- & 12-hour shifts
- On Call:Â None
Details:
- Inpatient Responsibilities:Â No
- Outreach:Â No
- Number of Physicians: 1-2 Physician coverage day hours. 1 Physician coverage night hours.
- Number of Advanced Practice Providers:Â 1-2
- Supervision of APP(s) expected:Â Yes
- Clinic Provider Daily Volume:Â ED Volume average 77 patients per day
- Job Responsibilities:Â ED Physician coverage
- EMR:Â Cerner Powerchart until June then EPIC
- Teaching Opportunity:Â teaching hospital
- Trauma Level 3
- 250 beds
- 33,000 annual visits
- Peak shifts/busiest is during 11a-11p
- Transfer out less than 3% of patients
- 60-90 days for privileging
- Ability to get them privileged quickly – no lengthy work histories (cred staff goes back 10 years)Â
- Board Certified ABEM/AOBEMÂ
- Clean background
- Active IA License or IMLCÂ
- Fellowship Trained -Â Emergency Medicine
- ACLS & PALS are required through AHA; if ER boarded ACLS and PALS are waived; ATLS required for trauma privilegesÂ
- AvailabilityÂ
- Must be available for night shifts
