Surgery
Saint Alphonsus is focused on delivering surgical excellence and has established the region's premiere surgical program. The foundation of surgical expertise is our Level II Trauma Center, which is continuously ready to care for any severe injuries and provide the most advanced care available within 500 miles. Supported by new Cardiovascular operating suites that are continuously ready for cardiac emergencies and spacious orthopedic and neurosurgical surgical suites outfitted with the latest imaging and technologies, we're ready for any surgery 24/7.
We are also the first Health System in the region to introduce the da Vinci Surgical System, a minimally invasive robot-assisted surgical platform that allows patients smaller incisions and the ability to recover quicker, with less pain and scarring.
All five of our hospitals are staffed with skilled surgeons providing surgical specialties such as bariatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, breast surgery and reconstruction, cardiothoracic and gastrointestinal surgical care.Â

- 1 CT Surgery dedicated OR
- 4 available PAs rotate to support surgeon in OR
- Patient Population: Adult/Geriatric
- Â Adult cardiac surgery
- Â General thoracic surgery
- Â Aortic dissection
- Â CABGÂ
- Â Tube thoracostomy
- Â Pericardial window
- Â Thoracotomy lung resections and pneumonectomy
- Â Heart valve repair/replacement surgery
- Â Dissection
- Â VA + VV ECMO placement.Â
- MD diplomaÂ
- Internship/residency/fellowship certsÂ
