Emergency Medicine Physician for Mason City, IA (Perm)
Job Description
Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician with above average communication skills in Mason City, IA.
Job Description:
• A physician in the Emergency Department provides quality patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The duties of the physician cannot be rigidly defined, but the following description characterizes common expectations of the position. The primary responsibilities may not be interpreted to prohibit functions not specifically identified.
• Level III Trauma Center
• ~30,000 visits/year
• Full-service hospital with a 24/7 Hospitalist program, air medical and ambulance services, CT/MRI in the department, bed-side ultrasound, and point-of-use supplies in every room
• 42 hours of physician coverage/day
• Tertiary center with 300+ physicians & specialist support to keep patients in house- Trauma surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, GI, ENT, Pediatric Hospitalists, OBGYN, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Neurology, Infectious Disease, Ortho Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Anesthesia, Radiology, etc.
• Only transfers out < 1% of patients
• Practice at one site!
• Hospital-employed position!
• 24/7 scribe coverage and experienced, seasoned nursing staff
• Teaching opportunity- residents, med-students, PA/ARNP students
