Job Description
Hospitalist NP/PA (Locum) opportunity for Atlantic, IA
Order Description:
- Locums
- NP or PA
- Hospitalist
- Volume: 12-14/day
- Shift options: 12-24hr Shifts (24hrs max)
- EMR: EPIC
- Telemedicine? No, facility uses the region for psych services – no prescribers, but crisis management with recommendations for level of care.
- Inpatient Rounding: IDT rounds M-F in meeting room SNF rounds take place in patient rooms every Wednesday, hosp. med team is responsible for admissions and d/c’s, communication with physicians takes place via secure messaging app.
- No clinic calls, nursing home calls overnight/off hours only.
- Required to respond to Inpatient Code Blue/Medical Emergency.
- Trauma level: 4
- Other Information: Orientation - EPIC training with Dr. Berry and can happen prior to or part of first shift. Length is depending on EPIC experience (4 hours or less).
Candidate Requirements:
- IA Medical license
- Federal DEA with IA address
- IA CSA
- Life Certs: ACLS, BLS, PALS, (NRP preferred but not required)
- Covid/Flu Vaccination Requirements: Must be fully vaccinated or have approved exemption by Wapiti
- Immunizations: MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap, and Varicella
- PPD < 4 yrs old accepted
- Health form required from another facility or PCP within past two years, or complete their form
- 10-panel drug screen required and hospital will draw the lab during orientation and they pay for this.
- Other qualifications needed: Mandatory Reporters training of dependent adult and child abuse
